Apkbot Garmin,Download APK from apkunion Android Apps & Games. Garmin Mobile XT to auto rotate HTC HD2 near perfect Thank you, your work and my limited understanding as a new user of Garmin Mobile XT now has me running a satisfactory short cut, new Icon and G-Senor rotation.
Garmin & TomTom6/7 have voice prompted turn by turn directions. They will not announce the actual street name. TomTom6/7 & Garmin can use the inernal GPS, but with TomTom, you need to use GPSGate. TomTom6 is the latest version that is available for PPC. TomTom7 is a better upgrade, but it's only built in the HTC Diamond, though it is floating around.
It's even floated on0my 800w. Garmin has a very simple UI and has the latest map, but appears to lag on my 800w. TomTom6/7 has more user options, such as alert for POI's (gas station, golf courses, etc) that is in your route. TomTom7 has an option to alert you if you are speeding. It actually displays the speed limt & your speed. TomTom6 can use version 6 and, I've read, version 5 maps.
TomTom7 can use version 7 and version 6 maps.hmm, did not know that neither announces the street names. That is a bit disappointing.
It is not a matter of whether the software and maps are up to date; if the unit announces the name of the street and verbal directions, it allows the driver to simply listen rather than to have to keep glancing at the screen. That is the beauty of the text-to-speech feature. If the software and map isn't up to date, it may not tell you to turn on the street. Garmin and TomTom tell me to turn in the next 500 yards or miles. When I approach the street to turn on, it tells me to turn on that street. No need to announce the street name.
When you are telling your buddy how to take you home, you probably don't tell the street name, but more than likely, just tell them to turn on the 2nd street left or at the next stop sight/light. Bumping this thread. I am in the same boat: Legit copy of Garmin Mobile 20 (XT) and scheduled to swap my 700p for an 800w (then move the 700p to replace the wife's Razor and then move her T3 palm apps to the Treo.) tonight. I have searched high and low (in the forums and on the net) for any clue as to getting Garmin to recognize the internal GPS instead of only searching for Bluetooth devices. Found bupkis. Any suggestions or points in the correct direction from those who have found the magic solution are greatly appreciated.
Wish me luck on the triple swap! This could be an interesting evening.mg, PM me. I see this comes pre-installed on a 1GB card. Can you simply copy files over to your own larger 8GB card? I didn't think that was allowed. How else can you get this software that isn't already installed on a SD card? Can you get it on CD?
ThanksI was wondering about this myself. I got Garmin XT along with my Garmin Mobile 20 (GPS device/car kit) all for $50 (Woot.com was having a sale).
I would like to use the software on my new 800w (I got it when I still had my 700wx), so was wondering whether a) I could do this, or is the software permenantly linked only to that device, and b) if it's possible to transfer stuff to a larger card. These microsd cards are tiny and look pretty fragile, I don't want to be swapping them every time that I want to use navigation!
I gave garmin xt working, but the screen turns off in accordance with my power save settings. I believe i have gone through all the garmin settings in an effort to find something that would keep the screen on. Do i have to change the setting on my 800? Tomtom knows better. Also garmin is rather slow to redraw the screen.I found the redraw to lag as well, but it appears that the voice prompting is more accurate. Meaning, although Garmin appears to shows that you haven't approaches the intersection to turn yet, Garmin will already tell you to turn. As far as the screen settings, I never had any issues.
I have the Backlight Overide in Garmin set to Always On. Live works fine and gets my GPS position pretty quickly. When I run Garmin Mobile XT, it prompts me to: Purchase & Go Begin Free Trial Enter Product Key or Connect to a Garmin GPS I tried hitting the first two and they say that nothing is available. I try entering a product key, but apparently I don't have one. Mobile 20 came with a piece of paper with an unlock code and a serial number, but that's it, no product key. When I try to connect to Garmin GPS, of course it doesn't find one. It DOES then ask me if I want to connect to another kind of GPS, which I say yes to, and then it tells me that the software is only set up to connect to Garmin GPS devices.
I did enter a different unlock code based on the instructions in that note that was posted. I entered it for gmapsupp.unl, although I couldn't find the sw.unl file on my card.
